ebay’s new logo
Thoughts?
As much as I think that eBay or now, ebay needed a face lifted logo, I think that this is somewhat disappointing. The type looks stretched as though a child has been playing with it. Plus, the x-height of the ‘y’ looks lower than the other letters. I would have expected a bolder logo, but I can see a strange resemblance to the new Microsoft branding (both in colour and type). However I do think that the decision to ditch the 3D appearance will work well; I really like the new amazon UI design and I think ebay may follow a similar design.

The question is….. what new possibilities will this bring to designers? Will it just be a break-through for e-ticketing and more intelligent app development, or will it lead to more a more intelligent design world?
